Whisky and Cocktails and Space Experiments – Oh My!
Just when you thought it was safe to go outside again, liquor invaded the sky above you! First, Ardbeg Distillery decided to do an experiment by sending whisky into space to see how zero gravity affects unmatured malt molecules. Now, NASA is considering making a solar panel shaped like a cocktail glass to collect solar rays. Not just any cocktail glass – a Margarita glass. (Sorry, we have to ask: Will it be rimmed with salt?)
The thought is that the opening of the glass will capture the sun’s energy, and those rays will be funneled back to the earth via the stem of the glass, where power stations would collect the energy.
What’s next? Mars cocktails made with red planet bitters. Or, vodka aged in the outer spiral of the Milky Way? Heck, maybe the next E.T. will come with his own “home brew” to share. Well, if that happens, we better have our flying car by then so we can cruise over to the Jetsons’ for a tasting.
