State Legislation Changing American Craft Distilling Landscape
Year by year and state by state, legislation is changing to incorporate new laws that support craft distillers. Here’s what’s up for debate right now:
Georgia:
Georgia Distilling Company is working with Representative Kidd to allow state distilleries to offer tastings during facility tours. Details here.
New York:
Gable Erenzo of Tuthilltown Spirits is speaking out for new laws that will reduce micro-distillery taxes and allow for distribution in Europe. More here.

Washington:
Initiative 1183, which went into effect on March 1st 2012, will allow craft distillers in the state to sell spirits directly to restaurants. By June 1st, they will also be able to sell their products to private stores. More here, and even more here.
