Los Angeles, California, is finally jumping on the craft distilling bandwagon. The Greenbar Collective organic distillery is moving into Downtown L.A., making it the first distillery in the county since Prohibition. L.A., which is usually a major trendsetter, seems a little behind the times on this growing phenomenon. Maybe craft distilling just had to become a real “thing” before the Hollywood types would take a chance on it.

While the L.A. location is new, the distillery has been around since 2004 in their Monrovia location. It has an impressive resume of organic products, including TRU organic vodkas, IXA organic tequila, TRU2 organic gin and CRUSOE organic rums. The distillery plans to offer inexpensive mixology classes for consumers at local establishments, but you won’t be able to tour the distillery since it’s not open to the public.
