The town of Tullamore will soon acquire its first whiskey distillery since its original distillery closed in 1954. The distillery? Tullamore Dew, of course.

William Grant & Sons, the owner of Tullamore, the second largest Irish whiskey brand in the world, recently announced its plan to establish the first distillery in Tullamore in 60 years. It will also feature the Tullamore Dew Visitor Centre that will open this September. The plan is to employ green technology to make traditional pot-stilled whiskey, say the officials.

Irish whiskey is the number one growing category of spirit in the United States. If you’ve not yet tried Tullamore (so basically you were sleeping through St. Patty’s Day), we highly recommend it. And then we think you should move on to this traditional flight.
