April Booze Events You Shouldn’t Miss

Spirits aficionados and novices alike will appreciate the upcoming tasting events, festivals and other gatherings dedicated to craft spirits this month. Check back for future monthly events here.

April 1-4: American Distilling Institute 9th Annual Craft Distilling Conference

The historic Brown Hotel in downtown Louisville is hosting this conference, which will feature distillery tours, tastings, a vendor expo and several educational opportunities for attendees. For more information visit distilling.com.

April 5: The Art of Corsair Distillery

This educational tasting series will finish up its last class this month at the historic War Memorial Auditorium at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center in Nashville. “The Art of” series guides attendees through an informative tasting that showcases the history and production process of the particular alcohol maker. They have also hosted “The Art of Jack Daniels” and “The Art of Yazoo Brewery.” More here.

April 12: The CultureMap Tastemaker Awards Winners Announcement

This inaugural food and wine celebration at Austin’s Driskill Hotel will feature an awards ceremony for these annual awards, which recognize local chefs, restaurants (and their decor), mixologists, and wine and spirits professionals. Up for the category of Best Mixologist this year is celebrity bartender Adam Byron. Read more here.

April 14-17: Craft Cocktails Texas

Most of the events, including mixing competitions, tastings, dinners, instructive classes, at this new event will take place at the Stoneleigh Hotel in the Uptown District of Dallas. The nearby Main Street Garden will host a downtown festival with bands and food vendors, too. The event will support the American Heart Association. Find details here.

April 19: The Whisky Brigade

Denver’s Williams & Graham is hosting a “celebration of the water of life” during this evening event, and asking that you BYOB: Bring Your Own Bitters. More information about the event here.

April 28-29: TOAST

The Oregon Artisan Spirit Tasting (TOAST) the largest public tasting of craft spirits in North America, featuring more than 50 local, national, and international artisan producers, pouring over 100 different spirits. The Oregon Distillers Guild will host on this event on the sky bridge level of the World Trade Center in Portland, Oregon. Click here to purchase tickets.
