THL: What is it?

While this whiskey may be young, the time spent selecting, milling, working and fermenting the mash takes a considerable amount of time. The youthful flavor comes from the un-aged corn spirits sourced from other distilleries, then redistilled and blended with 21% barley from Ransom’s own still before spending an average of 1 year in the barrel. The resulting hooch is essentially a blend of Scotch and Kentucky “white dog” (or un-aged) corn whiskey.

THL: Why should you try it?

WhipperSnapper Oregon Spirit Whiskey is like a rambunctious youth dressed up in their Sunday finest. It smells like a “light” sweet Scotch. The grain flavors it shares with many classic Scotch whiskies are toned back with the smooth, buttery sweet corn. WhipperSnapper is a very unusual and non-traditional whiskey worth seeking out.
