THL: What is it?

Tres Mujeres Tequila Blanco is made from agave grown in the Amatitan region in Jalisco, Mexico.

THL: Why should you try it?

As one of the largest agave growers in all of Mexico with more than 8 million plants, the Melendez family knows a thing or two about what a good agave plant looks like. After years of selling their plants to other tequila producers only to see their precious plants blended with corn, sugar, additives, and other artificial flavors, the family was inspired to create their own unique blend for complete control and tribute to their beloved agave. Tres Mujeres is Spanish for “three women” and is a homage to the three lovely ladies of the Melendez family.

THL: Who makes it?

Operations manager Jesus Segio Partida has grown millions of agave plants that he sold to a number of well-known tequila manufacturers for more than 65 years. Over the past decade the Melendez family decided to take the very best of their crop to make their own estate-produced tequila that would be ideal for making the ultimate margarita and is also a solid sipping silver tequila.

THL: What does it taste like?

Honey, oak, green pepper, roasted artichoke

THL: How should you drink it?

Jesus Partida created this spirit for the purpose of sipping, but it works quite well in tropical cocktails like the Mexicana.

1-1/2 ounce Tres Mujeres Blanco Tequila
1 ounce lemon juice
1 tablespoon pineapple juice
1 tablespoon pomegranate grenadine

Add all ingredients to cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake for 15-30 seconds, and strain into chilled cocktail glass.
