THL: What is it?
Square One Botanical Vodka is an organic rye spirit infused with the essence of pear, rose, chamomile, lemon verbena, lavender, rosemary, coriander and citrus peel.
THL: Why should you try it?
It's difficult to infuse a vodka well with one botanical, let alone with eight of them. The rye as the base spirit provides a sharp grainy contrast to the delicate floral flavors that the botanicals in this vodka create. This is the vodka for gin lovers, noted for its complexity and herbal components.
THL: Who makes it?
Square One was founded by Allison Evanow, an business school graduate and ex-bartender. She first worked at Jose Cuervo, and realized she preferred vodka over tequila for its versatility in cocktails. The Square One flavored vodka brand is distilled at the Distilled Resources distillery in Rigby, Idaho.
THL: What does it taste like?
Prickly pear, vanilla
THL: How should you drink it?
As is. This vodka has a lot going on, and a few sips of it neat or on the rocks will allow you to pick up on it's many botanical infusions.
