THL: What is it?

Partida Tequila Resposado is one of the only single-estate grown agave used to produce tequila made in the heart of tequila country.

THL: Why should you try it?

Partida allows their agave plants to grow for up to 10 years. The older the agave plant, the greater the amount of sugar and flavor, but many newer brands do not have the time or inclination to wait that long. After distillation, Partida Reposado is rested in used Jack Daniels oak barrels, which add to its sweetness with bourbon-forward flavors.

THL: Who makes it?

When Partida founder Gary Shansby first began his tequila endeavor, he encountered Sofia Partida, whose family had been growing more than 5,000 acres of agave for generations. Their extensive tequila experience paired with Gary’s brand-building knowledge helped to launch one of the most critically-acclaimed tequilas to the world. Gary is incredibly passionate about the history and legacy of tequila and has started a “re-education” program to undo the myths and untruths associated with tequila.

THL: What does it taste like?

Vanilla and caramel sweetness with a touch of oak, though much less than most reposados, and a spicy roasted pepper finish.

THL: How should you drink it?

Ideal for sipping neat at room temperature. Be prepared for a hit of spiciness on the finish.
