THL: What is it?

This gin is a New Western style gin vapor infused, instead of pot stilled, with botanicals.

THL: Why should you try it?

We know why you don’t like gin. It’s too much flavor, it’s like chewing on a juniper tree, and the coriander is dripping from your glass. Not this one. Its juniper-ness is taken down a few notches gin, yet has plenty of flavor. It’s flowery, but not perfume-y. It’s crisp, but not too clean. And that’s all because of Leopold’s distillation process. Are you a Plymouth drinker wanting to get to Beefeater? This is your gateway drug.

THL: Who makes it?

Leopold Bros. is a small, family owned distillery that also produces Absinthe VerteAmerican WhiskeyAlpine Herbal LiqueurCherry Liqueur and Blackberry Liqueur. The owners, brothers Todd and Scott, have backgrounds in brewing beer and environmental engineering, which equates to both refined and eco-friendly distilling practices.

THL: What does it taste like?

pine, rose pedals

THL: How should you drink it?

Corpse Reviver #2 will suit you perfectly well. The lemon, Lillet Blanc, Cointreau, and dash of absinthe will make this gin sing. A Singapore Sling will also flatter Leopold’s Gin since the gin is not as dry. You get the aromatics. You get the heart of gin, but it’s not overpowering the rest of the drink.

Or you can go balls to the wall, and put it on the rocks with the lemon twist. Hard core, Rambo.
