THL: What is it?

Hudson Whiskey is an un-aged corn whiskey. It was the first whiskey to be distilled in New York since Prohibition.

THL: Why should you try it?

The small classy bottles of Hudson New York Corn Whiskey from Tuthilltown Spirits make a great gift for a whiskey lover who may have not yet experience the joy of white dog (un-aged) whiskeys. If you prefer your corn whiskey to have spent some time in the barrels, try Tuthilltown’s Baby Bourbon Whiskey, the aged equivalent.

THL: Who makes it?

Hudson Whiskey is a brand at Tuthilltown Spirits in Gardiner, New York. Among the distilleries many products are gin and vodka distilled from local apples.

THL: What does it taste like?

While you can definitely smell the corn, Hudson New York Corn Whiskey also has fresh tropical fruit flavors, banana most prominent, along with some hints of fresh grass. It’s on the smoother side compared to some other un-aged corn whiskeys.

Cocktail maven Warren Bobrow heads south for the inspiration for his Mexico City Organ Grinder Splash cocktail.

1/2 medicine dropper of Bitter End Mexican Mole Bitters
