Where to Buy

THL: What is it?

Hudson Baby Bourbon is made from 100% New York corn and aged in small American Oak barrels.

THL: Why should you try it?

This spirit, aged in small barrels and bottled in baby bottles (375ml), was the first bourbon distilled in New York state since Prohibition. All bourbon must be at least 51% corn, but it's rare to find one that is made completely from corn. It's mildly sweet and just oakey enough to introduce a novice bourbon drinker to the category. If you can get your hands on one of the bottles, that is. Baby Bourbon is the most popular Tuthilltown Spirit. Get it while it's hot.

THL: Who makes it?

Hudson Whiskey is a brand at Tuthilltown Spirits in Gardiner, New York. Among the distilleries many products are gin and vodka distilled from local apples. Tuthilltown is one of the pioneers in the craft spirits movement of the last decade. This farm distillery has become a stop for many tourists as they travel through the Hudson Valley region.

THL: What does it taste like?

Mild vanilla and caramel

THL: How should you drink it?

Try it neat with someone who's never had bourbon before. Then make that someone a Manhattan.
