THL: What is it?

Espolon Tequila Reposado is a craft tequila that employ the time-consuming tactics of slow-cooking and slow-distilling their artisanal spirit.

THL: Why should you try it?

At first glance, you will notice a 19th-century Day of the Dead motif on the labels that is very much a tribute to both the Aztecs and artisans of the past, present, and future. Espolon’s artisan approach also applies to the booze inside the bottle. The mild manner of this reposado makes it a great first choice for those looking to explore tequilas, but aren’t yet ready for the heavy wood of an older añejo or the vegetal greenness of a tequila blanco.

THL: Who makes it?

Espolon Tequila is produced at the San Nicolas Distillery in the Los Altos Highlands region of Jalisco, Mexico. They also produce Espolon Tequila Blanco. Master Disiller, Cirilo Oropeza has worked in the tequila industry for decades and helped to bring the tequila which was previously only available in Mexico to the American market.

THL: What does it taste like?

Caramelized pineapple, roasted peppers, oak, vanilla, brown sugar

THL: How should you drink it?

If you’ve only had your Margaritas made with tequila blanco, try an aged version with Espolon Tequila Reposado.
