THL: What is it?

Corzo Tequila Reposado is a luxury tequila made from agave grown in the highlands of Los Altos in Jalisco, Mexico.

THL: Why should you try it?

The first thing you’ll notice is the stunning bottle from French designer Fabien Baron, the artist behind some of the most iconic perfume bottles of our time. Baron got his inspiration for the bottle from the works of Mexican architect Luis Barragan. Luckily that beauty lives on in the hooch inside, with an astounding 22 pounds of agave used for each bottle, twice as many as other tequilas. They even play Mozart during the fermentation process to “relax” the yeast. The tequila is rested in American Oak barrels immediately after coming out of the still for a period of 2-4 months. They then bottle their Silver and transfer the remainder for an additional aging period in French oak for their Reposado (3-6 months) and Añejo (6 months-2 years), which have varying levels of char.

THL: Who makes it?

Corzo is produced in the highlands of Jalisco at Bacardi y Compania, the same producer of Cazadores Tequila. They also produce Corzo Silver and Corzo Añejo which are both equally remarkable.

THL: What does it taste like?

Honey, vanilla, grilled pineapple, lemon, black pepper, crème brûlée.

THL: How should you drink it?

Sipped neat and shared with good friends.
