THL: What is it?

This nouveaux gin is vapor infused with sustainably harvested botanicals.

THL: Why should you try it?

Corsair Artisan Gin is surprisingly smooth for a 94 proof gin and transports you to a sunny Florida orange grove.

Corsair uses many of the classic gin botanicals, but bucks tradition by drastically altering the ratio of the ingredients for their signature flavor. Corsair Gin is distilled in a 50 gallon copper pot still that survived the hard times of Prohibition. The pot still has a unique vapor basket where the botanicals are suspended above the liquid as they infuse with the vapors that travel through the still during distillation. This is a more expensive and time consuming process, but Corsair (and other experts) believe that small copper stills using this technique produce a higher quality spirit.

THL: Who makes it?

Corsair Artisan Distillery has locations in Bowling Green, KY and Nashville, TN. They currently offer Vanilla Bean Vodka, Red Absinthe, Spiced Rum, and Wry Moon Unaged Rye Whiskey. At any give time, you might find a new seasonal/experimental spirit coming out of their stills. The current selection includes Rasputin Hopped Whiskey, 100% Aged Rye, Triple Smoke Single Malt WhiskeyPumpkin Spice Moonshine, and Barrel Aged Gin.

THL: What does it taste like?

citrus, black pepper spice

THL: How should you drink it?

The Breakfast Martini is perfect with Corsair Artisan Gin's citrus notes. The pepper spice of this gin will not only balance your cocktail, but also bring out the flavor of your eggs Benedict.
