THL: What is it?
Colorado Gold Corn Whiskey is a whiskey made from a mix of corn and wheat. It is aged for just a month in fresh bourbon barrels to give the whiskey a little bit of color.
THL: Why should you try it?
The Colorado Gold Corn Whiskey even appeals to folks who don’t like whiskey. Visitors to the distillery have been known to change their views about whiskey after sipping on this offering.
THL: Who makes it?
Colorado Gold Distillers started in 2007 and make brandy, gin, vodka, two kinds of agave spirit, tequila (in Mexico), corn whiskey and bourbon. The Western Colorado-based distillery is dedicated to including as many local businesses as possible in their craft spirit production.
THL: What does it taste like?
It has good vanilla flavor without an overpowering spice; very light, sweet and clean.
THL: How should you drink it?
Colorado Gold Corn Whiskey mixes well with almost anything and makes a very good substitute for bourbon. Next time you make a Saratoga Cocktail, switch out the bourbon for this corn whiskey.
