THL: What is it?

Benjamin Prichard's Single Malt Whiskey is a style unto itself, half Irish whiskey, half Tennessee whiskey and a truly fine American spirit that would please the Celts.

THL: Why should you try it?

Prichard’s Single Malt Whiskey is aged in heavily charred barrels that add a smoky depth to the sweet whiskey. Mr. Prichard also uses a very select cut from the pot stills to maximize the flavor and then ages in smaller-than-usual barrels, which allows maximum contact with the wood to impart the desired flavors.

THL: Who makes it?

Master Distiller Phil Prichard wanted to craft an American spirit with a nod to traditional Irish whiskey by distilling in copper pot stills and then aging in small 15 gallon barrels before bottling Benjamin Prichard’s Single Malt Whiskey. The distiller was the first in the state of Tennessee since Prohibition.

THL: What does it taste like?

It starts like an oak tree dipped in caramel and finishes with warm vanilla oatmeal.

THL: How should you drink it?

While a traditional Rob Roy uses Scotch whiskey, Prichard’s Single Malt Whiskey works equally well. Give your next Rob Roy the American treatment.

Or try a Rusty Nail cocktail, another great traditional Scotch cocktail where Prichard’s Single Malt Whiskey will shine.
