THL: What is it?

Benesin Organic Silver Mezcal is produced in San Juan del Rio in Oaxaca, Mexico with organically grown agave.

THL: Why should you try it?

Efrain Nolasco, the man behind Benesin Mezcal, first came to America with his family in 1987. After years of working in a variety of construction and food processing jobs, he opened his own gardening business. In 2000 he decided to go back to his hometown in Oaxaca to create a high quality mezcal to export back to the United States. In 2006 he decided to convert his operation into an organic one to care for the land and the quality of the product. Benesin Mezcal was the first of his organic offerings and has received critical acclaim since its arrival in the states.

THL: Who makes it?

This mezcal is produced by Benesin Mezcal who also produce San Juan Del Rio Mezcal Blanco, Sinai Mezcal, Tepalqui Mezcal, and Cinco Diamantes Mezcal.

THL: What does it taste like?

Grilled pineapple, smoke, lime, roasted spicy pepper
