Whiskey Smash

Whiskey Smash Cocktail

How to Make

In a mixing glass, muddle everything but the mint and whiskey. Add the mint, and gently muddle. Add the whiskey, and fill with ice. Shake, and strain into a short tumbler filled with fresh crushed ice. Garnish with a sprig of mint.

Many Smashes are made with orange liqueur instead of simple syrup. You can also try different base spirits like tequila, vodka, or gin. Try switching out the mint for another herb like basil.

This is one of the most fun type of cocktails to make. You just need something to smash! Grab whatever fruit is in season and some mint or other complementary herb, and get to smashing. Try a Peach Smash for Southern summer fun, or try making it with Leopold Bros.' Blackberry Whiskey, Grand Marnier, lemon and mint for some mountain man love.
