Bartender Stories

Alexandra Geppert

An old tom cat fell in the vat. That's the story I was told as to why there is Old Tom gin. The Old Tom style of gin is probably where the cocktail got its name, but a nice dry gin works purrrfectly as well. I love this cocktail because of its versatility: a refreshing patio drink on its own and a great option for a typical vodka drinker. And it goes well with food, especially spicy food. Adapt the simple syrup and lemon juice proportions to your liking.
