Bartender Stories

Mike Henderson

First appearing in Ted Saucier’s 1951 cocktail book "Bottoms Up," the Last Word is one of the finest Prohibition-era cocktails around. Bright and citrusy, yet deep and complex, this perfectly balanced cocktail is a great introduction to the joys of mixology. The flavor of a Last Word is simple enough to be enjoyed by most people, yet interesting enough to stimulate more discerning drinkers, making few cocktails better than the Last Word.
