Although the Margarita is one of the most popular mixed drinks in the world, would you believe that’s not what is most commonly mixed for locals in Mexico? It’s kinda like noticing that in Mexico they don’t eat over-sized burritos stuffed with rice, sour cream, guacamole, and lettuce. The most popular tequila mixed drink in Mexico is the Paloma, and it’s usually made with inexpensive grapefruit soda. Want to go all "craft cocktail" on it? Substitute fresh grapefruit juice, and add club soda and perhaps even some grapefruit bitters!
