In a hotel resort, far, far away, there once was a naive, young, yet eager, oh so eager intern. I volunteered for every shift while working at the Equinox Hotel in Vermont. Given that my previous bar experience had been shots of Scotch and half pints of lager, imagine my panic as server's tickets began spitting out of the printer with foreign words such as Manhattan, Gibson, Gimlet, short tumbler...whaaaaat? Trusty bar book aside, I needed some memory devices. Turns out newbie bartenders the world over remember the difference between a Gibson and Gimlet by this gem: The O in GibsOn is for onion. The L in GimLet is for lime.
