Cyn-Cin

Cyn-Cin Cocktail Recipe

How to Make

Because this contains fresh juice, you must shake it well (like it owes you money). Combine all ingredients into small tin, fill with ice, cover with larger tin, and shake!!! Fill a rocks glass with ice, and then strain mixture into said glass. Garnish with orange wedge.

This cocktail is a riff on a Negroni made by Jason Wilson, author of Boozehound.

I love Cynar, and it is not meant to be feared. For the home mixologist, this is something I would highly recommend as it pairs well with many different base spirits, and the out-of-pocket cost is so well worth it. You'll have it around for awhile. It's not something your Scotch-drinking in-laws are going to tear into. So you can hoard it all to yourself. Cynar is made out of our friend, the noble artichoke, and it has delightful herbaceous flavors. Who should drink this? People who love gin, are bored with the Negroni, and those who just plain want to have a good time!
