Bobby Burns Scotch Whiskey Cocktail Drink Recipe

How to Make

Combine ingredients in a mixing glass and add ice. Stir with a bar spoon until condensation forms along the outside of the glass. Using a julep strainer, strain into a chilled martini/cocktail glass, and garnish with a cookie on the side.

  • 2 ounces Scotch
  • 3/4 ounce Sweet Vermouth
  • 1/2 ounce Benedictine

It's my drink when I want to think. Benedictine was crafted by monk's with sweet honey, herbs and spices unveiled with each sip. Pair that with a fine sweet vermouth and a distinct Highland malt Scotch and you'll be content with contemplation. I finally learned that the cocktail's name comes from Scotland's finest poet. I imagine him having this cocktail and being inspired to say what needed to be said. Some say sleep on it. I say drink on it — with a Bobby Burns.
