Death In The Afternoon Cocktail Recipe

Death in the Afternoon

Ingredients

  • Absinthe
  • Champagne or Sparkling Wine

The 1904 Broadway Musical It Happened In Nordland features an ode to a classic absinthe cocktail for its use as a hangover cure, and accordingly named after the cocktail: Absinthe Frappé.

In years to come, absinthe received notoriety not for its hangover curing abilities, but more so for the fallacious notion that drinking it caused hallucinations and irrational behavior.

Scientists and absinthe experts have since proven that the spirit actually does the exact opposite — it makes for a relaxing drinking experience that is reminiscent of classic French traditions and the booming pre-Prohibition cocktail scene in New Orleans.

So sit back with an absinthe cocktail, and relax with our psychedelic-inspired, jazz-meets-alternative montage of music. We promise it wont make you hallucinate.

More About the Music

We had to include the 1904 classic "Absinthe Frappé" (song #1). From there let us take you down to strawberry fields, where we'll create some good vibrations with these tunes that will leave you feeling groovy. You'll likely linger on and have one more cocktail.
