Tampa’s downtown area is a hotbed for drinking and dining. Fly Bar is one of the spots that has set the pace by offering big city feel with a dash of hipster sensibility. The drink list is creative and very approachable. Catch Danny on the rooftop for rotating drink specials, from vintage to experimental. A great place to catch a killer Florida sunset or a post-show libation. (Recommended by Dean Hurst)

Notable bartender: Danny Guess

Whether you are looking for a classic or a modern original, Mandarin Hide is the place to go for a great cocktail. Located on Central Avenue in St. Petersburg, this bar offers a wide selection of premium spirits and cocktails, including barrel-aged favorites. There’s a bustling crowd on weekends, but go on a quieter night, and have the full attention of Jason or Jon to craft something especially for you. (Recommended by Dean Hurst)

Notable bartenders: Jason Fackler, Jonathan Harrell

SideBern’s offers a modern urban feel with rustic Mediterranean accents. The drink list changes with the seasons to keep up with the ever-evolving food menus. Try an original creation like the Three Amigos (a mix of tequila, bourbon, Scotch and Averna Amaro aged in barrel), or pick a favorite gin for the timeless Gin & Tonic. Expert (and charming!) barmen, Dean Hurst and Robert Jefferson, will find the match for you. (Recommended by Dean Hurst)
