Demun Oyster Bar is an intimate and comfortable space to enjoy a classic French 75 Cocktail and oysters. But wait, there’s more. The shaking and shucking behind the bar only makes you thirstier. Thankfully the fully-loaded cocktail list includes thirst-quenching Parisian spirits like Chartreuse and Lillet. Chad George, Layla Linehan and the rest of the crew take pride in crafting each drink carefully to pair with the sea fare. Have something they recommend, or try one of the 75s, a French 75-style cocktail with Demun flair. (Recommended by Matthew Seiter)

Located in a lavishly decorated mansion, the bar features small-batch and lesser-known spirits, and a slew of house-made ingredients in this quintessential farm-to-glass bar. The atmosphere feels like home. Things are simple and honest. Try a bite of food, and you’ll quickly remember you’re in a high-quality, local-centric restaurant that even mom would have a hard time rivaling. Enjoy a Salt Smash (bourbon, blood orange juice, salty caramel syrup and Angostura bitters with a few sprigs of chocolate mint), and you’ll get it. (Recommended by Matthew Seiter)

The laid back atmosphere and charming t-shirt-and-jeans-clad staff can make a cocktail lover out of anyone. Let’s start with the club menu of 150 cocktails, seasonal list, and weekly punch specials. If that doesn’t tickle your fancy, try one of their cocktails on tap, or let them match your taste with something made with one of their house-made bitters, tinctures, syrups, and/or liqueurs. If you’re looking for even more options, Matthew Seiter, Joel Clark and their crew will be happy to wet your whistle with a unique style of barrel-aged cocktails. Whatever the case, you’re sure to find true love at one of the 120 seats at the bar. (Recommended by Matthew Seiter)

A great South City neighborhood bar with an awesome cocktail list. Robert Griffin and his crew host a weekly, turn-back-the-clock, cocktail menu on Sundays called Cocktail Museum that features at least one fizz. As one of the first bars in St. Louis to use fresh juices, their cocktails are fresh and not over the top. Have a Corpse Reviver #2 (gin, Lillet Blanc, lemon juice, Cointreau, and absinthe), the best in the city and possibly the nation. (Recommended by Matthew Seiter)
