Daily special oysters, pig roasts, whiskey flights, a whiskey club, “punch drunk” $4-punch-cup Mondays. Oh yeah! The Citizen Pub is a modern neighborhood tavern located behind Fenway Park. The bar features craft cocktails and boasts at least 75 whiskeys. Try their award-winning Ideal Manhattan (Maker’s Mark, sweet vermouth, Angostura bitters, St. Germain, and grapefruit bitters). The bar staff is accessible and accommodating, and make a fine drink. With a full menu served every night until 12:30 AM, you’re sure to catch your fill of food and fun.
Notable bartenders: Corey Bunnewith, Sean Frederick
I never understood the adage, “come for dinner; stay for drinks.” Honestly, if you don’t care enough to make a good cocktail, you’ve already lost my interest. Craigie on Main has enough food accolades to get fat just reading them, but their cocktails are prepared with the same ideals. A true passion for flavor, and knowing where the product comes from, means a better understanding of the ingredients and how to pair them effectively. Try something house-made and tasty like the Never Setter (Szechuan Plymouth, maple, lemon, Barolo Chinato). Go in for a cocktail; stay for the food. (Recommended by David Delaney Jr.)

A guy walks into a bar called Drink. He’s heard a buzz about it, but what’s the big deal about another cocktail bar? You’ll just have to experience it for yourself. There’s no menu. There’s no back bar. But there is great service, conversation about your tastes, and easy mingling in the industrial space. Every drink, no matter how simple or complex, is made with care. Ice is hand chipped by Misty Kalkofen or one of the many expert bartenders and served to you like you’re back at Cheers. Order a classic from the brain of a bartender holding a mere 250-300 recipes on file. And drink. (Recommended by David Delaney Jr.)
Notable bartenders: John Gertsen, Misty Kalkofen, Josey Packard
At first glance, it’s a classic hotel bar and restaurant with tile floors and brass embellishments that could be clipped out of a movie. With cocktail legend Jackson Cannon at the helm of this spirited ship, quality cocktails can now be rightfully enjoyed by the masses. It’s no easy task to serve high-quality, complex cocktails at high volume, but they have it down. Navigate the 61-drink cocktail menu with ease based on your mood. From classics to originals, the precision and speed practiced by the highly-trained staff is all part of it and really something to take in. (Recommended by David Delaney Jr.)

Hot Dog and a Sloe Gin Fizz? Yes please! A flashback to the ’50s and only two years old, Trina’s has become a cocktail bar staple. Their Monday industry brunch is to die for. Industry worker or not, come get down on some chicken and waffles. Clearly Trina is a bartender at heart with an abundance of comfort foods from burgers and dogs to mac and cheese and KILLER cocktails. (Recommended by David Delaney Jr.)
