THL: What is your bartending style?

My bartending style is customer friendly. I want the customer to 1) have a cocktail they've never tasted before, and 2) leave the bar with the best possible experience.

THL: How do you find inspiration for new cocktails and recipes?

It could be a song I've heard, the season we are in, a movie title, almost anything that will make me be creative.

THL: Besides bartending, what things do you do well?

THL: Ever had any strange customer requests while bartending?

The drinks that frat boys/girls have created at home during a house party, named it some crazy name, then expect me to make it a the bar.

THL: What is your favorite after-shift drink?

Sazerac, Manhattan, or Negroni

THL: What is the one thing you can’t live without from your home liquor cabinet?

Cognac. Remy Martin, Pierre Ferrand, Louis Royer, and Tesseron. There is no better liquor than the finely aged grapes from France. It is a quality, smooth and refreshing spirit.

THL: What is the most underrated cocktail?

Honestly, the T&T — Tanqueray and Tonic. Easy, quick, and when made correctly, it can be a drink enjoyed in each season. A true classic that never gets old.

THL: What is the test of a great bartender?

No bar back, no glasses, 10 deep, and banging out endless "Appletinis" (I HATE that cocktail by the way). This happens to me almost every Monday night when we do $5 well cocktails. I'ts tough because you have pushy customers, you're knocking drinks out 3 and 4 at a time, and taking food orders with no assistance. But I seem to make it through each week.
