THL: How do you find inspiration for new cocktails and recipes?
Interestingly enough, The Wall Street Journal. The worse my portfolio does, the more inspired I feel to create a strong drink.
THL: Besides bartending, what things do you do well?

THL: Ever had any strange customer requests while bartending?
No joke — a virgin martini…dirty.
THL: What is your favorite after-shift drink?
An Alka-Seltzer, tall, garnished with an Ibuprofen and lemon twist.
THL: What is the one thing you can’t live without from your home liquor cabinet?
I know this will be a very common answer, but I have to go with everyone else on this one and say Midori.

The Gin and Tonic — until the day that bars start making their tonic in house.

Using only the available assortment of creamers and Coffee Mate flavors, a great bartender has the uncanny ability to create a balanced, thoughtful, artisan coffee drink in any gas station across the country.
