THL: What is something that best represents your personality?

A good bowl of ramen.

THL: What is your bartending style?

I aim to give you what you want, how you want it and when you want it. Unless it's right now. I like to be efficient and understated. The show is imperative, but never as important as good service. In fact, my ideal is to anticipate what you want before you know what it is.

THL: How do you find inspiration for new cocktails and recipes?

Music, non-sequiturs, old tales, fellow bartenders, art and sometimes, cocktail books.

THL: Besides bartending, what things do you do well?

Ideally, everything. Realistically, mostly nothing. But I do I like to bring people together and see what happens...

THL: Ever had any strange customer requests while bartending?

Nothing is really that strange if you can figure out a way to do it. If you bartend long enough, almost everything seems possible.

THL: What is your favorite after-shift drink?

Whiskey or rum. Straight or on ice. Keep 'em coming. Oh, tequila will do nicely, too.

Warm gin. Not technically a cocktail but delicious on it's own. Let me get back to you on the cocktail...

THL: What is the test of a great bartender?

Every night, every customer and every situation is a test. You just have to learn to handle them all in each of their ways.
